亞里斯多德認為，地球位於宇宙的中心，包括太陽在內的所有天體都在各自的圓形軌道上圍繞地球運轉。後來天文學家托勒密借助幾何學精確地描述了這個宇宙模型，使之能預測天體位置。由於亞里斯多德在學術界擁有的地位，地心說和“水晶球體系”在中世紀的歐洲深入人心。天主教會完全接納了亞里斯多德的理論，(當時天主教認為由於神的恩寵，人在宇宙中有崇高地位，所以人類居住的地球，一定是宇宙中心，天主教接納一個封閉有限的宇宙觀。)「地球位於宇宙的中心」是基於天主教會繼承的希臘哲學，並非源自聖經。
教皇濫用他的權力，加罪於伽利略。但是伽利略在教廷讀完了他的審判之後，仍然不屈地說道：「它(地球)依然在轉著。」
其實，人受到特殊恩寵，跟地球位的位置沒有必然關係。

伽利略在「地球繞日說」一事上的確是正確的，但是，他認為實驗能測量自然界的一切，這項信念已被二十世紀的物理學證明是錯誤的。如果我們要了解一個物體的位置，我們必需用實驗手段去測量它。但是，測量的過程一定有誤差，使我們無法了解物體真正的位置。伽利略的觀點認為我們的實驗手段一直會進步，實驗誤差會越來越小，這樣，我們可以漸漸地逼進物體的真正位置。這一觀點在宏觀世界中似乎是正確的，但是對原子世界的研究被證明是錯誤的。因為我們測量的過程會改變物質本身。這種改變在宏觀世界中是微不足道的，但在微觀世界卻很明顯。例如，我們要測量物體的位置，我們可以用顯微鏡；但顯微鏡一定要用光源。當光源作用在物體上時，雖然物體的位置可以看清許多，但是它的速度卻改變了，測不準了。

原子物理中的量子力學發現：不論用多麼精確的實驗儀器，測量物質的位置與速度的誤差，始終大於一個常數。也就是說，我們永遠無法同時了解物質的位置與速度，不是今天不可能，明天不可能，而是永遠不可能。

在物理學中，位置與速度是描寫物質的最基本性質。所以這一「測不準原理」是十分令人震驚的。偉大的物理學家愛因斯坦臨死都為此深感痛苦。這一原理從根本上限制了伽利略「實驗能夠了解自然界一切」的信念。測量物質的位置與速度是一個科學問題，但卻不能通過實驗來回答。

if you belief is base "only" on science(by human ability), then science is your religion.
every generation said their science is most advance(compare with all generations before them),
however, after few generations, people will also say our science level is very cheap(compare with them).
old science proven wrong, new science come in, this is human history.
compare to the whole universe(so huge,beautiful,complex), our science is nothing.And our God is greater then the universe.

can this so-call "cheap level" can prove everything about God(a supernature,powerful being)or answer all questions?
should we put "all" our faith on science?
also Evolution is also unscientific according a lot of scientist(not all of them are believers).
