From what I know so far, Hong Kong SAR government under Tung's leadership (or the lack of it) refuse to recognize any same sex marriage even if the couple are legally married in Canada.
They couldn't not have joined tax form for married couple or apply for public housing.
This is part of the thing normal people are trying to get the government to do. But at this stage, because of the opposition, it is not likely to become a reality yet.
