>但請你從那時代的人看這些事情。...

Let me clarify the key issue of our discussion by focusing our attention on a wider context.

Let us begin.

You think the whole Bible is the "word of God".

With that belief in mind, you predict that all the commands in the Bible (supposed to be from God) must be good.

When you encounter bad commands in the Bible, you try to explain that the commands are actually "good" for the people of that time ("從那時代的人看這些事情").

The problem is, when your explanation distorts universal ethics, that explanation will not be acceptable to the mainstream culture and hence fails.

The example of marrying the rapist is not illustrative enough. Consider the example of the command of murdering all the members of a defeated enemy, including children and babies. You may explain that it was necessary for the protection of religious purity of the Israelites. Do you recognise how unethical you are when you say that God commands genocide (genetic cleansing) for the "good" (religious purity) of a certain group of people?

A more probable and very simple explanation for the presence of bad commands in the Bible is that the Bible is a piece of human-generated literature, therefore full of bad human commands as well as good human commands.

Please stop pumping out distorted thoughts and ethics for the protection of your irrational beliefs.

>當然你可以說,神可一次過改掉那些一直以來不對的傳統,直接把女性地位高,但你認為對著橫梗的人可以嗎?
>...好多的改革只能循序漸進的。

This raises the problem of the ability of God to work supernaturally. If you say God's "改革只能循序漸進的", you mean that God must conform to the culture of that time, that in turn means that God must conform to natue and hence God cannot work supernaturally. I agree. God does not perform miracles, God does everything according to natural laws, God does everything "循序漸進" naturally according to the "循序漸進" of hman culture. God is limited or bound by human culture.
