Subject: The Yearly Cycle

I don't know if the transcription is as the poet had intended- the original was supplied without punctuation. It remains, however one of the greatest works to come from this midlands poet since his seminal piece 'fuck off, fuck off' performed with a vigour unseen since the unforgetable (and indeed epic)'A midsummer night's caning' put on in 2003 at the Theatre Royal Tregantle Fort. How Giles wailed.

Gentlemen- The Yearly Cycle.....

Oh the annual flooding of the southern shires' rivers-
The secret heart of this ancient civilisation.
Rituals steeped in antiquity abound sandbag pyramids,
The revels of water-rat and split sewerworks.
Nothing says festive fun like rooftop rescue
And cries of 'why was this allowed to happen'?

Thus the yearly cycle is complete
