In the interest of keeping this message board alive and well, readers are invited to comment on an excerpt from a story in a Poughkeepsie newspaper that reports that CLARENCE DARROW, noted counsellor-at-law, was stopping off at the Palatine Hotel in Newburgh when a small fire broke out in the hotel's dining room. Since this happened on November 16, 1934, there are now still alive today, few who can recall why Darrow was in Newburgh on that occasion.
Please discuss.
