Do you remember about what month/year that was? I remember the event very vividly, seeing it like it was yesterday (it went almost right over my head and my brother and his friends also saw and starting running after it!)
It was a different incident from the weather balloon - because I also saw that! I recall that very clearly too, we were visiting a friend on a street off of Broadway not far from Washington's Headquarters, but I can't remember the street... But I saw the weather balloon at night, it was definitely what they said it was - it was a long shadow looming overhead with clouds sometimes obscuring part of it... it was the shape of a huge light bulb with the air let out, but all you could see was the shadowy shape of it... It was very weird.
But the meteor was something else that I never heard any more about and always wondered about it.
That's amazing to have seen it from another vantage point!
I saw it going over head parallel with Windsor Highway, which our house was very close to. I'll never forget it.
