It must be Spring I hear the Shad are running! I have many memories. Early in the morning we would gather empty bushall baskets and throw them in the truck and head for Tomkins Cove about 10 or 15 miles South of Newburgh, down the Hudson River. We would gather and harvest the fish and fill full all baskets.
The fish and the Roe are in high demand.
