[> 3-4 years ago NO-ONE used faux hair. Now you see it on everyone. It's too much sometimes, I'd personally like to see pageants more natural and not so over-the top. -- Anonymous, 10:48:40 06/24/05 Fri [1]

[> I HATE the photo retouches--How FAKE do you want your child to look? I don't understand one bit why you would want a photo of your precious child to be retouched due to flaws--Flaws are what makes a child unique & to cover up their natural beauty is ridiculous! -- Anonymous, 11:25:34 06/24/05 Fri [1]

[> [> I agree to an extent. I don't like the overly retouched photos but I love the ones that are retouched a little to where the natural beauty is only enhanced. Kinda like putting make-up on a photo..hehe. You wouldn't let your daughter go out on stage without make-up would you? -- Anonymous, 11:29:57 06/24/05 Fri [1]

[> [> [> I disagree to an extent. We did a pageant a few weeks ago and my dd was not allowed to wear makeup. I loved it! It was so easy to get her ready! Now, the older girls, they need a little makeup, some more than others, but the younger ones look so natural and cute. -- Anonymous, 11:35:04 06/24/05 Fri [1]

I HAVE MY DAUGHTERS PICTURES RETOUCHED TO SHOW HER EYES. NO TEETH OR HAIR OR ANYTHING ELSE ADDED. As far as all the fake stuff, i think a child should be natural. you are making your child think they are not pretty. i have heard too many children ask why they need make up and fake hair to ben in a pageant. let them be babies and kids.

[> [> [> [> We do the fake tan ( not to dark, but a more natural looking tan), but I feel the fake teeth, fake hair and even the fake nails are pushing it a bit far. I have even been told that there are a few young girls out there wearing colored contacts to change their eye color appearance and that is ridiculous. These are things needed to compete at HIGH GLITZ level and if thats the case, we are fine at the level we are at, a more natural approach. Why go to such extreme measures. Is a pageant worth all that? To me, it's not. My daughter is beautiful the way she is, not the fake way that she can be. JMHO -- Anonymous, 16:14:23 06/25/05 Sat [1]

We do fake hair because of the ease and the fact that you don't damage their hair. We use a wiglet and only put hot rollers into that wiglet. My DD's hair is never damaged by heat and I don't have to listen to her complain about it being hot or not liking it!
