Ta for pointing me to that - hadn't managed to find it in the huge amount of info on the web that tends to deal with the details rather than the basics! I take it that the restriction is a legal one rather than a technical one? Given how little data I need to exchange I'm sure it could be managed with pulses of sound - but not if it's breaking the licence restrictions. Any suggestions on an alternative?
