Both my radio's react in the same way. The headsets we tried all worked well on an other radio in the store (I can't remember the make/type).

In the meantime i got a little mail from the Belgian/Dutch alecto-importer, stating that the fr-8 was designed to be used with a headset in vox-mode only. Do we have to believe that or not, i don't know?!? The alecto-manual isn't telling anything about the other features too, but they work, as mentioned in your article. That makes it even more weird.

I don't know anybody with the same type of radio's. Posted already a topic on a Belgian forum to ask around, but got no reaction yet. I guess i'll have to send 'em to you and let you give it a try :-)
