Hi Jiasi,
The Transponder Method is simply a way to make your radio at home transmit (in reply to your call), so that you can go mobile and see how far the signal goes. There is no automatic measurement, it's up to you to work out how well the signals cover the area. It's just an alternative to transmitting a constant beacon signal, to save batteries or stop the transmitter overheating.
