Subject: PMR in Northern Adriatic

Hello there!

Here some notes about PMR446 activities in Gulf of Trieste.
About two month ago I bought two PMR446 radios (Twintalker 3000) in a local store. I ment to use them to keep contact on biycicle trips with my doughter (she is 5 years old).
But I was surprised, when Charlie called mi from his location near by Miramare (Italy)... It is about 18 km away on the other part of Trieste bay.
With this contact my interest increased... Evening calls started to be very nice... as were some 20 yaears ago on CB. Now here in my area one can hear about 10-15 different stations on PMR.
First we were on ch 6, but after visiting this homepage, we decided to jump on 8 tone 8.... As you say: Share a tone, don't go alone!

My personal record on PMR with Twintalker 3000 and inductive coupled 4 el yagi is contact with Kappa1 in Pordenone city - about 80 km away...
