Subject: ICOM T8E on PMR 446

Dear All,

THere have been some mentions by the owner of this site about the T8E and it's use for PMR 446.

I can receive most channels with a frequency error of (only :) 0.00125MHz (12.5kHz).

On the mods.dk site there was an article about removing the diodes on the back of the pcb in the T8E to allow wider tx range, including the 446MHz band.

THat site is currently down and I can't find that info anywhere. Does anybody have an incling where that article might be hiding, or has anyone done this mod themselves?

We're off on holiday in a couple of days and it would be great to know that I can pick up the kids' PMR's from a distance, and maybe in an emergency call them back too!

Cheers in advance..

Dr Ramble
