Subject: MURS and Computer Networking

Hello all,
I am wanting to build a pair of trancievers to transmit networking data between my apartment and a friends about half a mile away. I was looking at some data and it seems like the MURS Frequencys might do this quite well. I was curius if anyone could give me some insight on where to begin. I have built several electrical projects recently. However, I have never attempted any radio circuitry before. So I suppose I need to know how to modulate the data. Also how to send it. And How to recieve it.

I would appreciate it greatly if anyone could point me in the right direction to get me started.

Thankyou,
Robert
