Thanks for writing. I'm afraid I can't really agree with some of your points, but I welcome you making them! There's room for a bit of DXing on 446, and some people still see the 'magic' involved and will do it anyway. It's not really hurting anyone.

All sorts of old technologies have been made obsolete by decades of progress, but you still have people interested in vintage cars, for example. So it is with radio. Yes it's all been done before, but that needn't stop us enjoying finding it all out for ourselves. That's the best way to learn. There are many things different amateur bands can teach us, and that's what the hobby is all about.
