Subject: Morse testing

Enjoyed reading your "Morse- no thank! " page , exactly the reason I let my Class B licence lapse in the late 80's after passing RAE in 1970. Found all the methods to learn it then including records - which you could memorise after a time - only lead to a fairly slow 6-8 wpm. Now in 2018 I am shortly about to regain my old handle and have bought a little hf/vhf transceiver in anticipation . I will try now using G4FON trainer on a computer to learn the code using "Koch" method of only introducing code characters 1 at a time after initial 2 letters "m" and "k" at a minimum speed of 15wpm with extra spacing between characters if necessary. I am 64 this year and been retired for the last 5 so I can now play on the HF bands with NO pressure to get the morse requirement , the worse thing that could happen on CW is to be ignored due my shaky code !
