Here I sit under a soft warm blanket.
I feel the little one beside me.
His young body warm and smooth, his face full of light.
His energy passes to me with each smile.
I feel my heart expand in my chest as I watch him in wonder.
I hear her voice and I hope she can reopen someday soon.
I try to get in and feel my losing at this.

I know what I feel in these moments.
I know what I feel as I sit: separated from some and drawn in closer to others.
I know that there are many sensations that pass me by�
mostly because I make myself too busy to feel or I pass judgment to avoid feeling.
I notice others doing the same this week and I wonder,
I wonder what life would be like if we just made a decision to stop doing judging for a moment.
To stop and sit and feel whatever is there regardless of how uncomfortable it makes us.

A friend called me yesterday.
She is on her way to her dying grandfather.
She doesn�t know what to say to her mother when she hears the pain in her voice.
Nothing, I tell her, say nothing.
Just be with it.
And when you mind wants to escape, stay with it.
And when you feel something rise up and then you suddenly get the urge for a cup of coffee, just stay with it.
And when you feel the struggle and realize what you are witnessing is the one inevitable thing in life, just stay with it.
And when it becomes too much to bear, just stay with it.

Stay with it and feel it�your life will change in each passing second that you do.

I invite us all to do the same....
