I felt an "energy flow" last weekend, and I have to share it with you - - because I have said so many times, in workshops and IN Groups, that I do not feel the energy.

I attended a Human Awareness Institute Level 1 workshop last weekend - the theme for Level 1 is "Love, Intimacy and Sexuality." It was held at Harbin Hot Springs, near Calistoga, and I'm wondering why I'd never heard of Harbin before. I was living in the wrong universe, I guess. Harbin is a beautiful "clothing optional" place.

So...Sunday afternoon there was an exercise where you spend a few hours with 3 partners doing a number of things, with no talking allowed. The exercises themselves were powerful, but my experience afterwards was most memorable.

My 3 partners (another man and two beautiful women) and I were sitting in a circle under the blue sky in the shade of a tree outside. One of the women is a Shaman, and the other is - - what to call her - - a "sensitive", I guess.
I was sitting with my eyes closed, holding their hands, and I began to feel a surge of pleasure through my body. I might describe it as a very-small-scale full-body orgasm. Not nearly that intense, but similar in sensation, and pretty much occupying my entire body.

I've felt similar smaller surges most of my life, whenever a certain spot on my back, and another in the center of the top of my head, are touched. But this was a magnified version of that feeling, and it went on and on and on and on and on.

It was like I was connected to a pump that was pumping pleasure through my body.

I opened my eyes briefly and saw that the woman across from me seemed to know that something was going on with me. Later I briefly saw the shaman making a circling motion with her hands above our heads. At the time I thought she was describing what was happening, but later she gave me the impression that she was helping to cause it.

Later still, as I sat with my eyes closed savoring the sensation that just kept going and going and going, one of the women leaned over and put her hand on my heart. She later said that she had been feeling the urge to do that for several minutes, and finally stopped resisting.

So, as I said to the entire workshop, my experience there threatens to shatter my self image - because a large part of my self-image includes being a skeptic, and one of the things I'm skeptical about is all this new age energy stuff.

And that's the truth.
