Subject: Demo Reflections

"They're all having more fun!" I noted as I compared last Friday's demo to the previous demo (by the same cast) a couple of months ago. But isn't our perception of others just a mirror to show us our own lives?

In the first demo, there were actual mirrors behind the scenes. One unexpected effect of the mirrors was that the video camera (shooting just over my head) consistently caught my face reflecting back at me. There were times when I was distracted wondering how I was supposed to look. No matter how hard I tried, it wasn't flattering.

In Friday's demo, the mirrors were metaphoric, but my reflection was definitely more at ease (sexier?). It surely helped to have closer ties to everyone in the room. Touching, petting and flirting during the show only heightened the excitement of the adventure (doesn't it always?). Fears lose their power in a safe and supported environment.

There is still some resistance to being in a "sex cult" or maybe just resistance to belonging to anything that my overactive mind doesn't think it can control. Each step closer (the workshops, the friendships, DOing, One Taste, LIVING TOGETHER) is a barrier to confront. Each shattered barrier adds to the pile of rubble I climb atop to see the world clearly. The view is only getting better.

I was having more fun. Maybe it was a more comfortable
