True. Id hope the atmosphere would hold up abit better. According to the doc i saw the electromagnetic fields around the planet usualy protect our atmosphere. However, they are also predict a polar shift in the earth that would leave us vulnerable to a CME while the fields re-establish themselves. The main focus was on the impact of electricity and all communications just vanishing. Food delivery, civic water supply, gasoline, civic sanitation, medicine, goverment, all depend on electricity in some way and the world population depends on them to an unhealthy degree. People will hoard, others will raid the hoarders. The only place i would stock up would be my local library. I would gather as large a group as i could to both increase productivity and ward off looters. I know basic water distillment and where to find an extremely abundant and renewable sorce of protien(insects). Id also try to figure a way to distill alcohol for antiseptic purposes. Knowledge and resourcefulness are the best tools.
