Subject: I knew it was her time

I knew it was her time

This morning we put our Bassett hound Molly to sleep
I got my tears out of the way last night when I wrote the poem
the life and times of Molly the Bassett Hound
and this morning when I woke up after only sleeping an hour and a half
I guess I had to be the strong one.
For my Mom and Older sister.
I went with them to the Vet
I carried Molly in.
Both Vets said it was the right thing to do.
And Molly knew it was her time also.
The funny thing is. She was happy to be at the Vet, and to see the people there.
She knew what they were about to do.
She even ate some Biljack treats for the vet. What she would not do at home
for most of the last three days.
The last time she ate really well was friday evening when she had linguini
and some of my steak. Then saturday morning had eggs
and that was it until the three biljack treats.
We held her in our arms as she quickly drifted off to sleep for the final time.
Knowing Molly I was wondering if she was going to wake back up.
Since she had fought back from deaths door time and time again.
But she knew it was her time.
I am going to share the poem with coworkers
I gave a copy to my sister.
My Mom and Dad both read it this morning.
It was a very spiritual, yet trying morning.
But we got thru it.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
I will Miss Molly.
But will always remember the good times.
