Okie dokie, lets see if I can help you out here. 3 years in fast food has taught me a few things about complaining.
Oh yeah, there is a class action suit against the geek squad in the making right now. They have been looking through people's personal computer files, so you might want to check out your files and see if you can find anything. if you do, here is the sign up sheet for the suit
not sure how old it is though, just ran across it they
have had more than one suit on them lately.

1. have a legit complaint, guess what? YOU DO!! congrats
2. yelling and tantrum throwing will get you nowhere. Always try to remain calm and polite, but be firm, confident, respectfull, and kindly assertive. Sometimes there maybe exceptions to the policy, if you speak to the right person the right way. just avoid the beat down puppy attitude as well as that of a rabid pitbull.
3. ask for the name of the General Manager of the store or the Manager of that particular department, make sure you get across that you know it isn't the particular clerks screw up (even if it is), don't ask for thier "superior" that is a very alienating word.
4. go as high up the chain as you need to.
5. have the details of your service plan in writing. if you don't have a copy, go to bestbuy.com and try to find it. also, if you weren't told that you would need a specific reciet when you got your service plan, or it isn't in the details of the plan itself, then you should make that clear to who your speaking with, preferably a manager, because you can't agree to something you don't know about.
Okie dokie, that's the best I can do. I can't garuntee sucess, but it's your best chance. I'm crossing my fingers for you. good luck!
