A little relief came into my moment finally. I was not getting my proper diet over the weekend at the rehab home still. A different nurse came in this morning. I dumbly judged her by her looks. She looked kinda dumb to me. Talk about eating humble pie. Man... I told her my plight. She told me that the dietician would not be in to later in the day. I told her that wouldn't do and I would be contacting the Unversity Of Michigan by 10:00 a.m. about being transferred. She left the room. I told the occupational therapist that I did not know about the day because I was about to contact the University of Michigan to attempt a transfer.. The nurse came back. She had been busy. She had made phone calls, left messages and posted notices. All, of which had ASAP. I had the director of dietary at my bedside pronto. We talked and worked out a diet that merged my needs and the hose diet. I did “I” messages in he ensuing conversation as, “There are two parts of me who are mad. One who is supposed to be mad and one who is mad because he, his majesty is not getting his way.” “I do not want the second talking.” The director identified with the second one and was glad that I was aware of him and that I admitted so. The director came back with the dietician who had only been on the job a day before I got there and was in training classes etc. My meals have been right on target since. I was able to express myself clearly being it was not the “majesty” talking. I said that I if I was a diabetic I would fit into the home’s “box” and there would be no problem. However, being my medical condition is so rare that I do not fit into their box. The director and dietician understood that and began to strive to adjust to my box as I strove to adjust to their box. So cool, hun?

Oh, I also got the chance to talk to my doctor here and spoke with him in the same manner. He wrote and order to allow all my vitamin and mineral supplements to be brought in here from home, which are my main source of vitamins and minerals. I even got to talk with a social worker about how frustrating all this has been. Dang!

RICHARD
