Subject: Good news I hope...

Remember Miriam. Miriam calls me her twin. We know each other from “Short Stay Medical” at the Hospital where I get my hydration IV infusion. She has short bowel syndrome also. She too, has autoimmune disease. That is where the body’s defensive system cannot recognize its own cells as belonging and attack them as invading disease. Hers is severe. She cannot use her legs at all. Her lungs are about shot. Miriam is on heavy pain killers. Miriam gets her blood transfused three times a week and so on. Miriam has most mostest upbeat attitude. I am not her twin though. Miriam is very educated. When she gets around one or more of the nurses furthering their education they talk about literature and all kinds of stuff. I just leave. I have e-mailed Miriam about my situation. She knows all the most influential medical people and more. Miriam has had 35 central lines. She can name off a ton of different named veins. I have had only ten now. My own surgeon here at the hospital is the chief trauma surgeon here… top surgeon of the hospital. He is also a top notched vascular surgeon. A woman resident surgeon under him has assured me he will be able to get me hydrated still. So, all is not lost.

I thank all of you for support. I am also very sorry if it seems I have worried you needlessly. Of course, until I get a working med port / central line… I will not know for sure.

RICHARD… Miriam is my hero, ya know.
