I know I haven't been around. Even when things are good, I try to post. But lately, Lorne and I are both worried and pulling our hair out, trying to figure out our 18 year olds' (soon to be 19) lack of life skills. She has quit going to school all together now...she did this once before in Grade 10. Last year, she was honor roll...this year, totally slacked off and has this "I don't care, just leave me alone, attitude"...Which would be fine, if she realized how much everything costs and that she has got to start taking care of herself. She doesn't even do her own laundry...which we have now told her she has to...she doesn't help keep house clean, or cook. She will do dishes once in awhile...but not often. We thought, her job, was to go to school...and that was her only responsibility...but now...she won't do that and she says she is not ready to get a full time job. We have told her, if she is not going to school, she has to get a full time job...it is not a request..it is what it is. She is to start paying room and board and she has to realize, anything to do with doctor prescriptions, dentist, optomitrist and transit is now going to cost her and she has to budget for it all. We get this glare, like we are supposed to keep paying if she is not working....Yeah, not going to happen. She is driving us nuts and we have no idea how to talk to her. When we do talk to her, she lies anyway, so no trust there. She also, has this attitude that sucks, so she pretty much is just coming and going and doing what she wants...but that is not going to last too much longer.
That is my life...enjoying the spring weather with Dayel and Lorne and going to gym....
