Blood cultures were positive too? I'm glad you are on vancomycin....that is the best antibiotic for what you are going through. Hopefully you will be out of the hospital soon, and at the rehab place. Keep on fighting...soon you will be back on your bike (and away from deer) and back in your new place.

I had a roomate for about 3 hours when I was in the psych ward. This woman made me sad.....she had dementia, and the nursing home she came from thought she'd be better off for a while in psych to get new meds to make her more lucid.
I had just been moved because of the rape, and she joined me later that evening. This poor woman had no control of her bowels and bladder. She couldn't walk anymore, and had to be pushed around in the wheelchair. She wanted to sit out in the hallway and get out of the room, so since there were no god damn staff on at that time, I tried to get her in the wheelchair to get her out. She had peed and had the runs and saturated her clothing, her sheets and her mattress. The smell was god awful. I went to the desk and told the attendant what was going on. Of course I hear "we'll get to it". Well X-RAY came to take her for a cat scan, and saw the condition she was in. The xray tech and the transporter ended up cleaning her up instead of the nurse. She left for xray and never came back. I hate that fucking hospital......they neglected everyone. I felt so bad for that woman....she wasn't treated with dignity at all. I bitched about how they ignored her...and I ended up in a room by myself. Guess I'm gonna add that little tidbit of information to the lawsuit.

I hope you get out soon.....good job standing up to your roomate. Hospitals are hell.
