Wayne Dyer says the depression news on TV is deliberate because all the commericals on the breaks try to sell you various antidepressants or other pills for stress, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, heartburn (which we probably get from watching the news in the first place). They even show commercials about meds without explaining what the meds are and ask you to call your doctor to find out if you need xxx-cor or whatever.

I think it just shortens our lives when we allow traffic situations and other drivers to aggravate us. I am never tempted to give the finger (but if I did it would be a little one on my lap and out of public site. I sometimes say "f*ck yourself" (quietly, so only I hear it) when some impatient bastard honks at me for pulling in front of him or not going at the speed he deems suitable.

I'm reading a book about Highly Sensitive People and it says that we need a lot of sleep and if we can't sleep, lying still and relaxing with our eyes closed is 90% of the benefit because we eliminate visual stimulation that comes in through our sight. My mom used to also say that resting was nearly as good as sleeping. But if all you are doing it tossing and agitating, you might do better to rise and read a dull book until you get sleepy.

I envy you your obedient cats. Mine would run for the trees if I let him go out. Having lost two cats who disappeared from the back yard very rapidly, never to be seen again, I keep my Puck inside.

Hope today is a better one. For all.

Liz
