I've always said that when I am in a self defeating mood, look for someone who is worse off than me. That brings me back to reality. We all have our crosses to bear, and unfortunately I have a mental illness.

Marion sounds like a super strong individual. Her faith through all of this is amazing. My friend Martha, who has bilateral breast cancer (she had her breasts removed last Tuesday) is the same kind of person. Strong as all get out, and deals with one day at a time. I wish I could do that.

You know, having an autoimmune disease isn't a death sentence. It can be debilitating dependent on what it is. My aunt has lived with lupus for 35 years and she is still kicking. My mom has RA, and although she has bad days, for the most part she is ok. She has suffered from it for nearly 10 years.

I still believe that if you stay active like you have been, you will stall the effects of whatever autoimmune disease you have. You'd have to tell me what it is that you have.....I can look it up in my lab books to give you more information. But it's not a death sentence.

So get out there and ride like the wind!!!!!!

Love, Mikki
