Subject: Good day yesterday...

What a awesome yester morning I had. I was up early and out to the park by 5:20 a.m. My upped three times per week infusion is so helping. I just did not know how under hydrated I was. I am feeling very strong now even doing my new three times around the lake. On my third trip around a the lake a young woman passed me after surmounting a hill. I was a little slow on the hills the third time around. I caught up to her immediately. We rode side by side for the last five miles. We chit chatted away. We did not solve any world problems; we just chit chatted. We have similar complaints of some trail users. "Judy" takes thyroid medicine. She has done bike tours and a big time bike rider. We were being nice to each other. I was holding back to be polite to her and I am sure as it turns out that Judy was holding back also. Judy lost her past riding partners because she lost her job. Judy and I both so enjoyed having someone to ride. Perhaps, that will be the last time I see Judy. But, I always will have that glorious moment. Perhaps we will meet again and become friends. Judy is married, but a friendship would just suit me fine.
When I got home from the park, I called my rheumatologist's office. I talk to the office assistant, and she yesterday the rheumatologist had my chart and if there had been any serious problem he would have called and if not, he just waits for my appointment to see him. I am a little leery of him though. When he examined my hands he noted to the intern that there was 'clubbing' in or under my fingernails. He did not bother to tell me what clubbing was. He could see the redness in my arms; he only saw the redness in my hands. Many people both medical and non-medical people have noted the redness in my arms. However, it just might be that I have had antibodies in my blood for very long time. The physician assistant who ordered the first blood test just so happen to order the right test to show the antibodies. "Ulcerative Colitis" is what destroyed my large bowel, the colon back in 1970. Back then, the medical world did not know what caused the disease. Today, the thought is that it is an Autoimmune Disease symptom. There is so most much info on the web… too much… it scared me some. It is just since I got my short bowel syndrome that I have several symptoms like those of the disease. Perhaps, my regular internist doc is right that it will be only a nuisance. However, I have enough nuisances already. Because of my past personality disorder, I have always had tough physical jobs. I am hooked on being very physical. Perhaps, AD is not an actual death sentence, as you said Mikki it wasn't, but if it compromises my physical activity much, it will be like a living death for me. I do not think I will have 'Marian's' fortitude to keep living and choose to die if that happens. Anyway, it was good news to hear no news. I see my regular doc this Friday and my rheumatologist's office will have faxed the blood tests results by then.

Yesterday, I also got my partial dentures. I have such a better smile now. I can chew better now also. The lower one needs adjustment though. When I chew with it, it rubs on one spot of my gum. It was a good day yesterday. Actually, a lot of little things have been going my way recently… what's going on?

Well, I got to remember what once was so a part of me…
