Our old computer, kept crashing...and we brought it in, they cleaned it and found that one of the boards was loose, so install that and reinstalled the operating system.

Windows tends to "lose" files,...so reinstall should be done, don't do reformat..as you will lose everything..but do reinstall and it will replace missing files...

Try that...and also do disk scan.

AND...if your hard drive is failing, and monitor, keyboard and other stuff is doing ok, then getting more memory and maintenance and your computer should last...for awhile longer. Let me know ok...

If it goes, go to a coffee shop with online access and keep in touch...or phone.
