Subject: hello, quick check in

Hello strangers! I feel so bad for not checking in more often. It's almost impossible with a nearly 3 year old (in 3 weeks time, can you believe it?!), and a 7 1/2 month old (where has time gone?!). I do think of you often, and even occasionally read a post, think I should respond, then one or other child calls me away to change a nappy/wipe a pooey bottom etc. Joys of parent hood!

Anyway, i've just quickly gone through some posts. Mikki, i'm so glad you're having fun with your Aussie friend. Hope she brought her own vegemite with her :-) Dave, absolutely 100% possible to be in a relationship without sex- esp. as we get older, I think many women realise how there is SO much more to love than sex! Sandy, hope working helps your well being again. I also find i'm better off at work than at home. Zsof, I know you're right with me here in babyville! Gem, you're always a sweetie! Richard, Liz, Hope, Bill, Rhonda, hope you are all hanging in there. I feel bad I can't reply to everything (or pretty much anything!), but you are always in my thoughts.

I am now back at work which is so full on. The girls are adjusting to child care (Alison was there already, but she was only going 2 days a week when I was on maternity leave, and now has to go 3 and occasionally 4). Of course, with child care, comes illness, so 2 weeks after going back to work, Alison got sick, then Stephanie got REALLY sick and ended up being hospitalised with croup. Not fun! Just as she started getting a bit better, Alison got an ear infection, and now Steph, it appears, has the beginnings of one. Ugh!

All of this is taking its toll, I have to confess. I can feel all the old feelings resurfacing, but I am putting it down to sleep deprivation at the moment. I'm still breast feeding (which means pumping a lot on work days), so DH is limited in what he can do at night. I know in theory she "should" be sleeping through, but tell that to a sick Stephanie! I'm also rather loathed to not feed her at night when I know she's not with me during the day. Yeah, i'm a sucker :-) A few friends have suggested post natal depression, but right now, i'm holding onto the 'not enough sleep' theory (which i'm sure Zsof can identify with, and more!). Still, it always scares me, given my previous history.

Anyway, sorry to write an essay after being AWOL for so long, but thought i'd catch you up. Oh, and here are a few pics, just incase you are intersted!

(Steph's was for a photo shoot as she was asked by a photographer to be on the cover of a parenting magazine!)

Thinking of you all!
Anna
