I feel similar. Many days this is the first website I check, before I even check my e-mail.

I'm going through a rough patch right now and a lot of it has to do with feeling disconnected from people. My kids are growing up and have little use for me. I don't get close to anyone at work now, since being laid off 3 years ago it is hard to invest much there.

I seem to have very few friends in real life these days, not sure why, except I have shaped my life to be available when my man-friend has time for me and also to be here for my kids last summmer at home, which makes it hard to pursue friendships.

But truth be told, it is depression that makes me withdraw and isolate. If not for the web and my pets, I'd be much more lonely.

I miss you Michele and everyone here and the old timers who have left, and I have not found the same kind of close connections on any other websites.

Hugs,

Liz
