Subject: Toupe' is at the emergency clinic

Well Toupe' got real sick overnight and I had to take him to the after hours emergency clinic today since it's a holiday. I was there for hours. He has a high fever and is drooling constantly because he's nauseated. There was one doctor there for all of those people.

She painted a grim picture and I was pretty sure I was going to lose him. She said she needed to open him back up to see what's going on and that she wasn't sure it could be taken care of. This evening she called and said he was still on IV and resting. She said another surgeon had come in and didn't necessarily agree with her about opening him up and that tomorrow I could take him to my regular vet or they could refer him to someone. I told her that my regular vet is out of town and his associate has never done this surgery. I want them to refer me to someone who has done this surgery many times and is very familiar with the complications that may arise and how to treat them.

So I don't know what's wrong with him and I don't know if he'll live. I've cried my eyes out and I'm scared to death that he's going to die. I'm not ready for that. I love this cat too much.

Pray for Toupe'

Sandy
