Or another thought would be to stay in a hotel in Port Huron. That would save you the extra 60 miles to my house.
A word of caution about the bridge crossing....make sure you have your birth certificates with you. You will need them for customs. Because of homeland security here, they are really tough at the border.

Anyway, just a thought.....I don't know what your plans are. We do have a major interstate going north-south called 1-75. That will take you as south as you want before you head west to Phoenix. You'd have to take 1-94 to get to 75...but it will take you south.
