Subject: Adjudication

Since this is board that lists all the smaller organisations I have decided to try my approach with this board first in the hope that the moderator does not take offence at this idea and remove the post - here goes.

Since the major orgs have banned their members from helping the smaller orgs I was wondering if there is anyone out there who would be interested in judging at events for the smaller orgs. You would have to have extensive dance experience and knowledge but you may not be interested in being part of a bigger picture or are in the middle of a dance break etc. We (WIDA) have a growing number of feiseanna and are finding it difficult to get fresh faces and I know our partner organisations are having the same problem. Anyone interested? Let me know.

>This is a message for the person who posted the now deleted connection to the newspaper story about the OP. This site is for the exchange of information in a positive way and not the sordid past. The irish dance world to my understanding is now well aware of this story and is now ready to move on - are you ? Please do not use this board in future to post anything negative about anybody. Thank you.

I know a few people who might be interested in this except that they are worried about what might happen to them with their own organisation. If you can let me know if there is a way of doing this without being penalised we would love to recommend a few people to the smaller organisations. There are many people in the our organisation who are qualified but dont get asked to judge a lot in their own group and would like the opportunity to judge at all.

[> The WIDA is associated with AAIDT and CDRM. More inside! -- AAIDT teacher, 06:26:40 09/26/07 Wed [1]

Actually, only the An Com has banned them. An Comdhail dancers can dance at your feiseanna. AAIDT's president is an experienced adjudicator, and I'm sure that he would be willing to speak to your group about it. (by the way, our Gold Crown championship is coming up in a few weeks, if anyone's interested in competing). Also, both organizations are associated with CDRM (did I get that right), and perhaps they may also be able to provide some adjudicators.

CRN will participate in open platform feiseanna, but since they do not officially associate with any of us (they don't even want us announcing the availability of their feiseanna on our websites), I wouldn't want to make an assertion positive or negative about their potential involvement.

My advice is to contact each of the organizations individually, and work directly with them. Cooperation and friendship are among the values we teach our children, let's enjoy them, ourselves.

Does this mean that An Comhdhail ADCRGs can officiate at events other than their own?
