Subject: Thanks for the contacts. It will be interesting to see if TPTB stick to their decision, or whether this is all posturing on both sides. Hopefully both sides will come to their senses over the weekend, and everybody (inculding us fans!) can get back to work.
In reply to: DJEgirl 's message, "My friend sent me that article this morning, and it took at least 5 min. for it to sink in. Honestly, I sat in front of my computer and cried. The whole situation is stupid. CSI is the #1 show on TV... why can't TPTB dig into their pockets and give them a little more money? The whole cast and crew are headed to Vegas on Mon. to start shooting - how the heck do they plan to re-write the season premiere in 3 days?! Methinks CBS had no idea such an uproar would start up over this... umpteen petitions have been started already, and calls have be coming into CBS all morning. I've included some contact numbers/e-mail address INSIDE..." on 14:34:12 07/16/04 Fri

[> [> [> [> I'm sorry, DJEgirl, but I can't cry over this spilt milk. It's like athletic salaries. I find it hard to sympathize with people making $2.2 million a year thinking that they are ill-treated. Of course, the hours are long, but that minimal pay far exceeds what ordinary mortals earn, and like athletes, these folks seem to forget, that even as entertainers, they can't do it without their teammates! -- Postrider. Bring on the newcomers--or bring back the oldgoers--just give us more good scripts! That's entertainment!, 17:59:14 07/16/04 Fri [1]

[> [> [> [> [> No need to apologize, buddy... I was probably just being pathetic anyway. I believe both sides are at fault, but I feel the outcome is extreme - why make fans suffer the loss of two great (and beloved) characters instead of simply saying, "No, your current salary is fine"? -- DJEgirl... moving past the pissed-off phase and settling into devestation, 18:16:09 07/16/04 Fri [1]
