I didn't say that David McDonald should not voice opinions as queer officer of the student union. Just that if he felt the need to do so, it was incumbent upon him not to ignore facts. For example, his statement that Reagan refused to mention AIDS until 1987 is incontrovertibly wrong.

If David McDonald wishes to parrot the nonsense views of the virulently anti-Reagan left that's his business. But if he wishes to do so while speaking from a position of authority, by virtue of which he can influence others, he should demonstrate less vitriol and a greater concern for accuracy.
