I have never been a fan of preventing or banning anonymous postings, always seeing it as a sledgehammer to crack a nut, and I've always just trusted other people's good sense to filter immature stuff like this out.

But we have a specific problem at the moment that is clouding the proposed relaunch of the new Sunbury Centre - and so I think for the time being all anonymous postings should be removed.

People really should have the courage to say the kind of things they are saying to individual's faces, rather than misuing and abusing this messageboard, and creating a very sour and immature, playground atmosphere.

Well said Stevers.

I for one (ho ho!)have never been offended at anything said about me on here, and recognise that Peter is not being in the slightest bit serious when he posts about me. However, I reckon some of the anonymous and spiteful messages posted about Peter on the last site were totally OTT.

I also think if anyone has a problem with what anyone has said on the last SC or now on here then I think they should do us all a favour and actually come out with now in the open, get it all done and dusted,rather than make veiled accusations that leave everyone under a cloud of suspicion.

BTW, when did Victor Meldrew last post on the old SC? Must have been at least 2 years ago.

BBTW, when we get our new home we should definately have smilies - without them a message intended as funny can come across in the wrong way.
