The point you seem to be missing, Herr Smith, is that if you get annoyed or bored too frequently you cease to visit, and once that happens to enough people the MB in question withers away.

The same thing happens if you get abused, but let's not go there... Dom, where are the smileys? I want smileys, NOW!

Interesting your last point Rob - maybe the SC messageboard ain't so bad after all compared to others, eh? ;)

"If you get bored or annoyed too frequently, then you cease to visit". It's all about tolerance, Rob. If an individual is so repelled by the freely-stated opinions of others, then maybe opinion boards are not a good pass-time for that individual.

As to the question of the messageboard withering away, it's interesting isn't it, that the blame is placed on hardy souls that stay and contribute, rather than the few thin-skinned flouncers who bugger off and contribute nothing except whingeing and finger-pointing.

Cath, slap away - get it out of your system, dearie :) But I trust we agree that a sense of proportion is the one vital ingredient every messageboarder needs ;)
