upandunder, the Craic (let's call it by it's proper name for a start, I've never seen anybody on there refer to this site by anything other than it's proper name) introduced registration ages ago but there is still a broad diversity of posters and registered users. I dispute your argument, sir.

Ok, I'll do the same with the Orderoftheoddshapedball, on second thoughts, maybe the DS is better ;-)

It is certainly diferent, irreverent, immature are some descriptions I've had used, but a really good writer in Master Scribe will get people looking at the site. This, in addition to the heavy promotion through the stickers, the Guinness sponsored shirts, etc.

It is certainly not everybody's cup of tea and probably due to the fact that the main protagonists are anonymous to a certain extent (it is still a bit cliquey over there, though!) that will make it easier for people to take it or leave it. Having been involved on the ground with the Craic, I speak from a certain amount of experience.

Now, once you've made yourselves known on the Parma or other away trips, that will change and as the site matures, personalities will become known. It is almost inevitable given the aforementioned site marketing. Like any part of life, there will be people who get on and those who don't, in this case, there is a common ground of London Irish Rugby. But that is as far as it goes in a huge amount of cases.

I'm in the Steve camp, (shite, that's almost as bad as agreeing with JoeV)it really isn't that important, it isn't life or death on these web sites, although you would think that at times.

STOP!

Deep breath all round.

What's to debate?

It's all very well going on about thin skins and how you personally ignore this, ride over that and have never been offended, but it is all irrelevant.

Message Boards, of their nature are supposed to be fun, entertaining, pleasant or instructive to visit. We come here for pleasure, not from a sense of duty.

Rationalise all you like, but once someone ceases to enjoy it, they'll stop visiting. And that is what has happened.

If you want them to come back, and thereby to supply an audience, you have to listen to them, not to the thicker skinned, tough as biltong left-overs.
