Just slogged through this thread and found a small covey of diehard SC contributors solemnly swearing that they will turn over a new leaf and cease to be unwelcoming, hold no grudges and so forth.

Sadly, the last few postings revert to type. The knowing nudges between the select few, the spiky comments, the righteous indignation. All the stuff, in fact, that put so many people off visiting (let alone contributing to) the SC. Catherine, Ken E and Pete Sake excepted :-)

One need's the patience of a Saint for all this - took at least 10 minutes of injury time to read it all ! The problem is that email or message boards are a rather imprecise form of communication and not everyone uses them in the same way although we all might like to think they should.
