When's your blinkin' MB going to resurface? "Necessary maintenance" seems to have been going on for about 4 years.

I have a lot of sympathy for the Odd Shaped MB plight ... I saw a few other posts on a completely unrelated site that don't paint a pretty picture of the bloke in charge of phpbbforfree.com. He doesn't sound like he knows what he's doing unfortunately ... and the most unfortunate thing is that while his 'domain' is down you'll not be able to get access to your mb to be able to migrate it somewhere else. Let's hope his Mummy and Daddy buy him that new computer he was asking for (and before you start thinking I'm having a pop at the OSB, I'm not. The stuff I saw about phpbbforfree suggested the owner was an immature and petulant w@nker).

Well in that case, apart from the petulant bit, I'd have thought he'd be the ideal person to host the OSB site.

Unfortunately, even when the forum is back up (before the weekend supposedly), he refuses to give out DB dumps. So we would have to start afresh anyway. I'm sure most would think that would be a forward step, but there's a lot of good stuff that we don't want to lose.

Dom - I know what you mean. The support forums have been having a dig at him for constantly getting the migration wrong (including me at times), but he promises that this will be the last move for a good number of years ... only time will tell. Needless to say, we Odd-Shapers are extremely hacked off with the situation and are currently looking at alternatives.

Rudolph - He runs it as a business and makes his money through advertising. Although he owns the site, he has other business partners, and they have spent a lot of money on new servers and faster raid array disk drives. That's why the MB is currently down.

I don't know what you are trying to access, but if you go to www.orderoftheoddshapedball.org, then click on 'messageboard' all is working fine.

Still knackered for me, mate. I also still have the problem whereby if I hover the mouse over a link, it will give me the script for the lnk above, with the message board link, it is about 1/2 inch below before the script comes good.

What browser did you say you were using? When I use IE or FireFox, I don't get this problem. I tried it in Opera, and I know that doesn't work.
