Subject: Rob Hardwick is fine

According to Meridian news, Rob has been undergoing tests throughout the day (this probably means he has been on a gurney in a corridor and up and down in lifts!) but is on the mend, no major damage.

Great news. They will need to give him a rest now though.

I wonder which grade of concussion this will fall into. Gabriel, have you any info on how they grade this type of injury? We've had players in the past, who have been seemingly ko'd then appeared the following week due to the grade of concussion involved.

VERY glad to hear that Rob is OK. He's already an LI legend, IMHO.

Sparko for as long as he was, at 36, with several injuries recently... Decent rest methinks.

But as of yesterday, large quantities of SA tight-head grunt arrived. Fitness & medical tests today, then we may see some action - 'A' game on Mon and then possibly the Parma game on 30/10?

What is the usual RFU recommended "rest" period for Knockout / concussion?

Jonny, there is a scale from which they work. I think that it was Rob that was knocked out at Saints a few seasons ago and he was back the following week. It used to be that it was a mandatory 3 week rest, until the sliding scale came in. That was why I was asking Gabriel if he had any info on how they determine what level of concussion that one has suffered.

All to do with cog(nitive) tests - recovery can be < 3 wks if one's marbles can support this diagnosis

Rob Hardwick is a thing of greatness.

That is my final word on the subject.
