I received a call today October 5, 2004 at 3:41 central standard time. The lady asked my name and said she was offring me a credit card and I IMMEDIATLY asked - WHERE did you get my information and umber from - as she called my cell phone (her name was Alyssa. So she verified my HOME address and kept asking if this was correct - i KNEW something was fishy so I didnt say anything - she said - ARE YOU STILL THERE - I said ummm huhh - NOT YES - but mumbled! Then she said - do you have a checking account - and I said - Excuse me - WHAT company is this and WHERE did you get my information - she said this is Liberty and I got we received your info from a lender - One moment so I can transfer you so you can receive your credit card. WHILE she had me on HOLD - I looked up the number on GOOGLE - then I read BREIFLY but fast enough to see it was a SCAM!!
THANKS and I HOPE no one else falls prey to this.
On another note- isnt there a way to STOP calls like that to your cell?
