You've got the characters voices down pat, Illyria with her slightly detached way of talking, Spike's blunt comments, Giles' weary why-me? attitude towards Andrew. :)

The only thing I'd be careful of is making Angel too down. He would most certainly be very upset that his friends had died, but it wouldn't knock the fight out of him completely. Especially if Connor's still around. It was made very clear in 5.22 that these days Connor *is* the most important person in Angel's life, and Angel himself said that as long as Connor is okay, no one can hurt him. Like Angel said, he's realised that it's the trying that matters, not whether or not you win.

Anyway, sorry to ramble on like that, hope you don't mind.

Like I said, other than that this is a very strong first ep. The scene where Angel hears the voices of his friends whilst walking around the Hyperion was lovely.
