Subject: Odds and Ends....Genie quote, Guza quote, Emmy Predictions etc...

There is an interview with Genie in last weeks SOD. Here is a link to read all of it.

This is the part that stood out to me and I am wondering what everyone makes of it.

Regarding GH, she talks about her departure from five years ago & says "It was very painful. Their choice was to go with Tony as their star and let me go and that was painful and hard...I felt very fired."

She makes it sound like it was an either/or situation. Her or Tony. But Tony didn't have a falling out with the Executive Producer. Why wouldn't they keep him? Thoughts?

As for the rest of the article, Genie is starting to sound so desperate. She wants to be asked back to GH so badly and I feel sorry for her, and I am angry at TPTB for using her for the L&L Anniversary and then tossing her aside.

I was reading an interesting quote from Guza in SID. He is asked about a Laura return and Guza says that Genie is always in his plans(don't laugh) and that this guardianship story is the perfect story to keep Laura alive. Then he says "What if she remembers falling for Scotty and not caring for Luke?"

I think Guza makes it clear that this is where we are going if Genie does return. Laura/Scott part 3.

On to the Emmy's. Do you think that Tony and Genie will take home the Emmy?

I don't think that this is going to be Tony's year. I liked his first reel with Luke and Lulu at the hospital, but his second choice of Laura waking up, I didn't like as much. After Luke's initial "You came back TO ME", there wasn't much for him to do. I would have chosen something else from Genie's return like maybe the honeymoon episode when he he tells her that he wanted to bring her back for himself.

Anyway, the buzz is that it will be between Ricky Paul Goldin and Peter Bergman. I saw some clips on Youtube from one of Peters submissions, but I wasn't blown away or anything. I am still rooting for Tony.

As for Genie, I think her chance is better than Tony's. She had two solid reels and they are emotional. The only thing is that I've heard that some of the other actresses in this category had good reels and strong stories. Lesli Kaye supposedly had a good year on her soap. My bet is on Genie. I really would like for her to win and I think she just might!

Julie Berman is also up for an Emmy. I think her chances are really good, but I think she should have submitted the same 1st episode that Tony did with Luke and Lulu visiting Laura. She was very good in that episode. The buzz is that Jennifer Landon also had good stuff and her chance is also good. I am hoping for Julie.

Tony and Genie are supposed to be presenting together. I can't wait to see them together again!
