Subject: Does he like me?

hey,
at school i met a guy, who i used to know when i was younger, i liked him when i was yuonger but then we didnt see each other for 3/4 years but his in the year above, and i really like him but i dont know if he likes me. He sometimes talks to me, sometimes he doesnt, i need to know if i should just tell him and get it out of the way (and plz dont tell me that i should talk to him more and get to know him....) coz i just cant do that, im also friends with alot of his friends but because its only the start of the year i havent really got to know them to well.
plz help i dont know if he likes me or what i should do.
