Hihi, I got a friend to buy me the 2 gigantic tub of straightening perm made by Bealite...it's made in Taiwan, that's where I was from. In Asia, you can get a decent perm for just about $100 US, and sometimes less than that. No, I am Not kidding!! I got the professional ceramic iron (heats up to 200 degrees Celsius) and the perm solution (consists of Step 1.straightening lotion and Step 2.neutralizing agent) so now I can DIY b/c I did all the research plus I have really healthy hair.

I had the Japanese ionic straightening perm (or thermal reconditioning/restructuring whatever it is called) done on Dec.31,2000 at a Salon (the stylist was trained from Toni & Guy in England) and it was perfect ..costed only $200 Canadian approx $130 US dollars and I have hair around 4 inches below shoulder. If you have puffy/wavy/frizzy hair like me, your hair will look much longer after the perm due to the straightening. My recommendation to you guys (Asian or not), go to Asian stores since they have the most competitive prices, but don't go for the cheaper stores b/c that makes the world of difference b/c they have really lousy irons that burns your hair if it doesn't get it straight the first time. If you're unsure, wait for some ppl to have it done by that salon b4 getting yourself committed otherwise you'd regret it, not just wasting your money and getting no results but damaging your hair and then you'd have to cut it, and you know it takes forever for the hair to grow back once it's short. If you don't have that much money? Start SAVING!! It's stupid to go to a super expensive salon when you can get it at a better price with same results. So choose well. Moderation is the key and success to everything.
My hair lasts for half year (it's permanent , but the thing you have to remember is that your hair grows!!) then I cut it off....regret regret..good thing it's long again ^_^.

I don't recommend rebonding at all! So beware.

Cheers!!!
