Subject: Mt. Scott debut

As Scottie forwarned me, the weather started off questionable....Mt. Scott was shrouded in fog, but we all made the climb and the 70 mile loop. I WILL say the Highway 19 portion was miserable, chip and seal. As Raynelle elegantly put it "it was like acid rain fell on the highway and cratered it". Everything remotely loose on my bike fell off by the end, and anything tight is now loose. It was about 30 MPH winds the entire day, with gusts to about, let's say 100! :) The wildlife refuge roads were wonderful, with buffalo and longhorn cattle freely crossing the roads, but there are NO supplies anywhere until mile 60, which we weren't prepared for. Meers seems to be the only stop and it's only a restaurant. I LOVED Mt. Scott, however! My legs are shot.
