We are so far downstream from whatever the truth of the initial meeting was that we will never know what really took place. It is a beautiful fantastic sensational story no doubt. If any of us ever get to heaven we will not even be able to ask Lahiri Mahasaya what the truth was-after all according to Sundarar, he has been reborn in a Muslim country now.

If we separate the myth and stories from the yoga, what do we end up with? Well one thing, less of a religion of past spiritual figures.

We really have to forge our own path out of the tools we have been given.
